Southview Acupuncture Clinic - common patient questions
-
Does acupuncture hurt?
Not very much, about as much as a mosquito bite, sometimes not at all - there
is some sensation upon needle insertion which is required for an effective
treatment. We do everything we can to maximize the patient’s comfort.
-
How well does acupuncture work?
Acupuncture works very well for many conditions. It has a long, several
thousand year history of successfully treating most human health problems.
-
How long does a treatment last?
About 30-90 minutes depending on the treatment, the initial intake interview
may take an extra 15 minutes. Usually you can be in and out in less than an
hour if desired.
-
How big are the needles?
A little thicker than a human hair. Very thin, comfortable for the patient.
-
Can I have acupuncture and Chinese herbs in conjunction with my western
medicine treatment?
Yes, we have experience in treating many conditions and supplementing western
medical treatment with acupuncture.
-
Does insurance cover acupuncture?
Many plans do cover acupuncture, but the types of coverage can vary. If you
would like, we can contact your insurance carrier for you. Most flexible
spending plans cover acupuncture. Check with your employee benefit office.
-
How easy is it to get an appointment?
Easy, just call or contact us via our website, and we can set you up with an
appointment. You can expect your appointment to be on time with little or no
waiting. Walk ins are welcome.
